gut health support with naturally fermented s boulardii l rhamnosus

How Biome Bliss Works

Here is what goes into every bottle, and why.

  • Fermented ingredients: Organic honey, apple juice and other whole foods are naturally fermented. Fermentation is also what creates the postbiotics.
  • Live cultures: Six carefully chosen bacterial and yeast species, including L. rhamnosus and S. boulardii, with 100 million CFU in every 25 ml serving.
  • Prebiotics and postbiotics: Prebiotics are the fibres and plant compounds your gut bacteria feed on. Postbiotics are the compounds produced during fermentation.
  • Premium organic ingredients: Biome Bliss is made with organic honey and apple juice, not cheap fillers like molasses or sugar cane, and contains no artificial additives or synthetic preservatives.
  • 25 organic herbs: Organic ginger plus 25 organic herbs and plants, including chamomile, peppermint, fennel and rooibos.

Important Information

Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking prescription medication, or under medical supervision, it is advisable to consult a GP prior to taking any supplements. If you have an existing health condition or a weakened immune system, you should talk to a doctor before taking any gut health supplements.

Why variety matters for your gut

Your gut bacteria feed on what you eat, and different microbes prefer different fibres and plant compounds. That is why variety matters as much as quantity.

In the American Gut Project, one of the largest studies of its kind, people who ate 30 or more different plant foods a week had a more diverse gut microbiome than people who ate 10 or fewer (McDonald et al., mSystems, 2018).

Fermented foods matter too. In a 10-week Stanford study, adults who added more fermented foods such as yoghurt, kefir and kimchi to their diet saw their gut microbiome diversity increase (Wastyk et al., Cell, 2021).

A diverse microbiome is generally considered a marker of a balanced gut.

Biome Bliss is an easy way to add both to your day: a fermented drink made with more than 25 different organic plant ingredients, from fennel and rooibos to rosehip and elderberry. It works best alongside a varied, plant-rich diet, not instead of one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are prebiotics, probiotics and postbiotics?
Prebiotics are the fibres and plant compounds your gut bacteria feed on. Probiotics are live microorganisms, such as the cultures in Biome Bliss. Postbiotics are the compounds those microorganisms produce during fermentation. Biome Bliss contains all three. More in our guide to postbiotics.
How much Biome Bliss should I drink a day?
One 25 ml serving a day. If you are new to fermented drinks, you can start with 15 ml and build up to 25 ml. Each 500 ml bottle contains 20 servings of 25 ml.
When is the best time to drink it?
On an empty stomach, either first thing in the morning or before bed, rather than with a meal, so the cultures are not mixed in with food. Taking it every day matters too.
Does Biome Bliss need to be kept in the fridge?
Not before opening: store the bottle at room temperature. Once opened, keep it in the fridge and finish it within a month.
Is Biome Bliss dairy free or vegan?
Biome Bliss is dairy free and contains no alcohol. It is not vegan, because it is made with fermented organic honey.
Are liquid probiotics better than capsules?
Not automatically. What matters most is which cultures a product contains, how many, and whether you take it every day. A fermented drink like Biome Bliss also gives you the products of fermentation (postbiotics) and plant ingredients, which a capsule of freeze-dried cultures usually does not.
How many live cultures does Biome Bliss contain?
Each 25 ml serving provides 100 million CFU (colony-forming units) from six species: L. casei, L. plantarum, L. rhamnosus, S. boulardii, P. freudenreichii and S. thermophilus.
Can a probiotic drink cause bloating or gas?
Some people notice more wind or mild bloating in the first week or two after adding a new fermented food. It usually settles. If you are sensitive, start with 15 ml a day for the first week. If symptoms continue, stop and speak to your GP or pharmacist.
Can I take Biome Bliss with antibiotics?
Many people do. Leave a few hours between your antibiotic and Biome Bliss. S. boulardii is a yeast rather than a bacterium, so antibiotics do not target it. If you are unsure, check with your GP or pharmacist. More in how to restore gut health after antibiotics.
Can I take Biome Bliss if I have IBS?
Biome Bliss is a food supplement, not a treatment for IBS, and it has not been studied in people with IBS. Research on probiotics and IBS depends on the specific strain, which we cover in our guide to probiotics for IBS. If you have IBS, speak to your GP or dietitian before starting, and begin with 15 ml a day.
How long does it take to notice a difference?
Everyone responds differently, so there is no fixed timeline. Give it at least four weeks of daily use before judging. Our guide to signs probiotics are working explains what to look out for.
Can I take Biome Bliss during pregnancy?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your GP or midwife before taking Biome Bliss or any other supplement.

    A pleasant surprise

Tried Biome Bliss for digestive discomfort and noticed a calmer stomach within days. I take it before bed – tastes okay, but feels gentler than other supplements I’ve used.
My digestion is more regular now, and it’s become a simple part of my evening routine. Pleased with the improvement in my gut health overall.

Makes you feel good and helps with bloating

I’ve been taking this for about 6 weeks. I have it neat, first thing in the morning as I like the taste, although you I reckon could dilute with water. I’m not sure how it’s working, but I feel great. I also think it helps with my bloating. Definitely recommend it!
